Overview
Gillian Furniss is an art educator and visual artist.

Her mission is for all children to have access to a studio art experience so they can learn in the visual arts.

She is committed to teaching art to multicultural children, training teachers to work in inclusive art classrooms in schools and community art organizations, and advocating for the visual arts as a site of learning.

She teaches studio art and art education courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She supervises pre-service art teachers in public schools. She teaches studio art to multicultural children at community centers and other community-based art education sites.

She writes about issues and research concerning art education and art therapy. Furniss presents at local, national, and international conferences.

She exhibits her artwork in solo and group shows.
